PRIVACY · PLAIN LANGUAGE
Your private words stay on your device.
This policy explains exactly what the No Contact iOS app and website handle, what leaves your device, why it is needed, and how to delete it.
Effective and last updated
1. Scope and who is responsible
This Privacy Policy applies to the No Contact iOS application and the official No Contact website (together, the “Service”). The Service is provided by AE Apps (“AE Apps,” “we,” “us” or “our”). For privacy questions or requests, contact support@aeapps.com.
No Contact does not require a conventional AE Apps login account. Apple and RevenueCat may maintain separate records needed for App Store purchases and subscription entitlement verification, as described below.
2. Information stored on your device
The app stores the following information inside its local app container so its features can work. AE Apps does not upload this content to servers it controls.
- Profile and plan settings, such as a first name or nickname, no-contact start date, goal length, review date, boundaries, triggers, preferred reset tools and recovery goals.
- Journal entries, unsent letters, private drafts, clear-headed notes and other text you choose to write.
- Progress and feature-use records, such as streaks, completed breathing or grounding sessions, Airlock start times and outcomes you record.
- A voice note recorded with microphone permission. The audio file is saved in the app’s local Application Support directory.
- Notification preferences and reminder times used to schedule local notifications on your device.
- Your Family Controls selection for Airlock. Apple provides the app with opaque tokens for selected apps, categories or websites; AE Apps does not receive a readable list of those selections.
3. Device permissions
No Contact asks for a permission only when the related feature needs it. You can refuse or later change permissions in iOS Settings. Refusing a permission prevents or limits that feature, but does not give AE Apps access by another route.
- Screen Time / Family Controls: lets Airlock shield the apps, categories or websites you select for a chosen period. Apple’s frameworks enforce the shield on device.
- Microphone: lets you create a private voice note. Recording starts only after you act and grant permission.
- Notifications: lets iOS deliver reminders scheduled locally on your device. Notification text may appear on your Lock Screen according to your iOS settings.
4. Purchases and subscription verification
Purchases are made through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple processes your Apple Account and payment details; AE Apps and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment-card details.
We use RevenueCat to load subscription offerings, validate receipts, restore purchases and decide whether premium features should be unlocked. RevenueCat may process an automatically generated anonymous App User ID, purchase history, Apple receipt or transaction information, subscription status, app and device technical information, locale, currency and last-seen time. We do not send RevenueCat your name, email address, journal entries, unsent letters, voice note, Screen Time selections or recovery profile.
Purchase information is used for app functionality, fraud prevention, customer support and aggregated subscription analytics. It is not used by AE Apps for cross-app advertising or tracking.
5. Support messages and website requests
If you email support, we receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. The app may prefill the app version in a support email. Please do not include journal entries, unsent letters or other sensitive content unless it is necessary for your request.
The website does not use advertising pixels or a separate product-analytics service. Like most hosted websites, OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure may process an IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, time and security logs to deliver and protect the site. Those providers process this information under their own privacy terms and applicable service agreements.
6. Why information is processed
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing is limited to: performing the Service you request, including subscription access and support; our legitimate interests in securing, troubleshooting and improving the Service without overriding your rights; complying with legal obligations; and consent where iOS permission or applicable law requires it.
- Provide, maintain and restore app functionality and premium access.
- Answer support requests and diagnose a problem you report.
- Protect purchases and the Service against error, abuse or fraud.
- Comply with accounting, tax, consumer-protection and legal obligations.
8. Retention and deletion
On-device content remains until you delete it with an available app control, reset the relevant data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the app’s local container from that device. Depending on your Apple backup settings, app data may remain in an encrypted device or iCloud backup controlled by Apple until that backup is replaced or deleted.
The app’s reset/delete control clears the profile settings and reminders covered by that control. Journal entries and unsent letters can be deleted in their respective sections. To remove remaining local content, including a stored voice note, uninstall No Contact. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. RevenueCat purchase and entitlement records are retained only as needed to provide subscription access, prevent fraud, support accounting and comply with legal requirements. Apple keeps purchase records under its own policies.
To request deletion of information controlled by AE Apps, including a support record or a locatable RevenueCat customer record, email support@aeapps.com. We may need limited information to verify and locate the relevant record. Some transaction records may be retained where law requires it.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can change Screen Time, microphone and notification permissions in iOS Settings; delete local entries in the app; uninstall the app; manage or cancel a subscription through Apple; and contact us about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent where your law provides those rights.
We will respond in accordance with applicable law. We may ask for reasonable verification and may be unable to identify data that is held only under an anonymous identifier without enough information to locate it. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
10. Children
No Contact is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to AE Apps through support, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
11. Security
We minimize data transfer and rely on iOS app-container protections for local content. Purchase and website communications use encrypted network connections. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so protect your device passcode and avoid putting highly sensitive information in a support email.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the Service or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date will remain posted here. If a material change affects how information is used, we will provide additional notice where required.
